The 10 Scariest Things About Robots That Vacuum And Mop

Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet messes in one session without the need to switch devices. They can also save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bin, refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads using the dock that is specifically designed for them.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer at a modest price, and it’s one of the most simple robots we’ve tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in no time.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments and an intuitive app that lets you select the kind of cleaning you’d like to have for each room.

You can, for example ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. The only problem is that it tends to hit walls and objects at full speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning on the app will reveal exactly what the robot accomplished, where it’s moving, and what obstacles it has encountered or avoided.

The docking station features a handy LCD screen that displays the need for maintenance for cleaning up debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the tank by itself, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to look at every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company’s top robot mop and vacuum. The model this year has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This enhances the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that allows it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners may miss.

Like the other two Roborock models I’ve tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to helps it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further by incorporating two cameras that can recognize objects, determining whether they’re walls or other surfaces. It can then change its path automatically and clean the objects without stumbling.

It’s the most expensive of the three models I’ve reviewed however, it’s also the most loaded with features. Its sleek, angular design is eye-catching and it only has three physical buttons which include the power button that also resumes cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid reveals a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is self-emptying and the bin is auto-filling.

The only negative I discovered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn’t movable. While you can replace the mopping cloth (if needed) but it’s a challenge to take off the mount itself for manual washing. I’ve observed that any soft carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which could cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of smart features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these via the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor battery life and component maintenance. However, you’ll need to jump through a few hoops to allow voice control with this model, which is a shame considering how well it performs otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with innovative features, superior suction power, and advanced mowing abilities. Its innovative design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while reducing time.

The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the most effective options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry debris, including pet hair and crumbs. It also comes with a top-quality mop that leaves floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. Additionally the X40 is very quiet during operation, only producing occasional squeaks of sound when switching modes or performing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 also has a side brush that is able to be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean curved furniture like chairs and table legs. The robot can also reach under furniture that is low-profile which makes it an ideal option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush tilts automatically down when it detects wet spots. This is a great feature that allows the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors through repeated back-and-forth movements.

Contrary to other robots which only focus on one thing, the X40 can perform both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or in a series. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.

The app is simple to use and understand, and the X40 has many smart features that are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, view mapping and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also monitor its progress, and alert you when it is finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has many features that make it an excellent option for busy families. The docking station will automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads and refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It can also detect when the mop pad is overflowing and notify you when it overflows, thus reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that’s among the most expensive on the market and comes with a lot of additional features that set it apart. Smart DuoScrub is a brand new feature on its mop, utilizes two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can remove pet hair and small dirt particles – and also pick up spills and wet spots.

The mop mops are cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature since it prevents the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a system we haven’t yet seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and could be a useful method of keeping your home hygienic for longer.

There’s a wealth of options available that include the ability to schedule cleaning times and adjust a variety of preferences. The app lets you set these preferences or you can use the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a number of options to customize your cleaning routine. It also comes with many features that aren’t offered on other robots, such as the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects any dust particles.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we’ve seen on the market, with metallic and white colors that is elegant and stylish. It’s a bit heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list – at around 4kg but it’s not too heavy, and it is sturdy and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
