Former Super Eagles Midfielder Uzochukwu Signs with Danish Club OKS

Odense Kammeraternes Sportsklub OKS, a Danish football club, proudly announced the signing of former Nigeria international Izunna Uzochukwu. The 33 year old midfielder will join OKS this spring and transition to an assistant coach role by the summer of 2024, while still being available as a player.

Uzochukwu’s move comes after a challenging period that saw him deported from Denmark in December 2023. Despite this setback and losing his residence permit in 2018 upon transferring to Chinese team MZ Hakka, Uzochukwu has maintained strong ties to Denmark, where he has a girlfriend and a daughter.

Before joining OKS, Uzochukwu was seen participating in a friendly match between two Funen clubs, indicating his efforts to secure a residence permit and continue his football career in Denmark. With 201 Danish Superliga games to his name from his time with FC Midtjylland and Odense BK, Uzochukwu is well regarded in Danish football circles. His career also includes stints with Aalesund, FC Honka, and Amkar Perm.
